After a long wait -the new skateboard facilities in the White Rock Gardens have now come into being. A combination of effort to raise the money and the combined willingness of both the local authority and the users have produced what is described as one of the best activity sites in Europe. This will firmly put Hastings on the map as a centre of excellence in the world of skateboarders.

The Next project to be tackled will be the replacement of the delapidated BMX  ramps, which have now been demolished for health and safety reasons, we are given to believe that even in the current financial times, ways are being investigated to ensure that this part of the project goes ahead to make the White Rocka truly first class activity centre.

The Forum executive is very aware of the lack of facilities for young people, especially in lower St Leonards [Central St Leonards ward] and has a representative dedicated to speaking into Council and Government initiatives for youth provision. The outcome of around 12 meetings over the last year is an assurance of funds for the refurbishment of the Skate Park at White Rock in 2009/10.
